What are the Best Contact Lenses ?

Email This Post Email This Post

In response to a slurry of summer emails we’ve gotten from our wonderful customers, clecontactlenses.com would like to ask the you a question: What are the best contact lenses on the market and why ?

While offer every major brand, we are always curious to hear what the public has to say so from time to time we take their pulse.

To start the “debate” I’d like to throw out a few statistics…
1) More than 80 million people currently wear contact lenses worldwide.
2) More than 74% of those contact lens wearers are between the ages of 18 & 48.
3) The contact lens was originally envisioned by Leonardo DaVinci and the idea of the corneal contact lens was further developed by Rene Descartes. Thomas Young used Descartes ideas to later develop the contact lens.
4) The average price of contact lenses online is 43% less than those found at your eye care professional and some “retail” outlets.

While it is not for us to say what the best contact lenses on the market are, we are comfortable saying that some of our top selling brands include the Acuvue brand from Johnson & Johnson, Frequency brand and Proclear brands from Coopervision as well as Boston EO, Focus Dailies and Air Optix are also very popular brands.

In the summer months our contact lenses with built in UV protection like the Acuvue Moist brand contacts seem to sell a bit better than in the colder months.

Our most popular solutions are the Boston Advanced, Boston Simplus and Boston Original brands as well as OxySept and Menicare CDS for rigid, gas permeable lenses.

So, jump in and let us know your thoughts. In your opinion, what are the best contact lenses ?

I wear the contacts that the Dr. prescribed so I can’t comment on which are best but I can say I’ve used a variety of contact lens solutions and I find the Boston products and in particular Boston Advanced to be the best solutions for me.

How can someone compare lenses ? I’d love to see a way to buy 2 lenses and compare them and send back the one’s I don’t want. Like Zappos does w/ shoes.

Post # 8, for the acuvue soft lenses I can suggest Complete Blink and Clean or Renu rewetting drops. Both are excellent choices but I prefer the Complete Blink and Clean.

I am a Menicare user and wouldn’t recomend it. I’m not too happy with it. I guess not unhappy enough to switch though. Any suggestions ?

Id def agree w acuvue moist in the summer months. I have chronically dry eyes and these things seem to be loaded w water. Plus they do have uv protection too, although i wear sunglasses so it doesnt matter so much.
