The Next Generation in Replacement Contact Lenses

Contact Lenses Can Improve Your Grade Point Average?

Email This Post Email This Post

A recent study done posed an interesting hypothesis, which was:

Do contact Lenses and glasses used to correct vision improve a college student’s core GPA (grade point average)? The results posted were quite astounding.

Seventy one percent of the college students polled who wore no lenses or glasses when they should have, reported an average grade point average of 3.12 (a resounding “B”). Not bad but certainly far from the goal we hope our children aspire to. Those same college students reported an average improvement of nearly .44 points or a median grade point average of 3.58 in the semester following their prescription and subsequent use of corrective lenses (either contact lenses and/or glasses). Perhaps even more impressive were the students polled who only wore contact lenses? These students reported a .58 point grade point average improvement semester over semester.

Now the debate amongst the academics and the eye care professionals in our office has begun. Is the marked difference between not wearing contact lenses or glasses in the classroom and wearing them proof positive that corrective lenses can and do improve a students grades ? The side debate in our office has grown to include, whether or not the further improvement in grade point average for the contact lens users is due to the fact that they are more diligent students, benefiting more from their contact lenses (or “enhancing” their reported results in the classroom.)

While the jury is out on exactly how much better student’s grades can or will be when they chose to wear some form of corrective lenses, there is a consensus among our eye care professionals that contact lenses can actually help improve your grades.

I can attest to the fact that my gpa improved when I got glasses, didn’t get better w/ contacts BUT didn’t get worse. I imagine if I went straight to contacts - I’d be singing the same praises abt contact lenses.

Hey, it makes logical sense. If you can’t see the smart board then how are you going to learn ?> We had blackboards back in the day - but we also had coke bottle glasses not contact lenses

It’s hard to believe that contact lenses would be responsible for improving grades. but tests show that they are helpful.
I wear contacts and have always gotten them from CLEcontactlenses.com where i get the lowest prices from them. but I don’t do it to get high grades but because I look better.

I went from a 2.5 to a 3.5 when I got my lenses. I couldn’t focus and was getting headaches when studying. All that went away with my Contact Lenses.

I am sending this to my daughter. I always see her staining to see far away. She is an average student. Maybe lenses will help bring up her grades.

It makes sense but not something you think of. Such a difference!

I don’t believe corrective lenses or contacts can help anyone’s GPA. I think if you see well then you have an advantage over those who can’t, especially in school.

Don’t know about my grades, but since i got my contact lenses my jumper is money. I hit more 3 pointers than Dinoi Galinari!

Dino Gallinari got really good grades and speaks 2 languages thanks to his contact lenses. that’s what Donnie Walsh told me.

If you order lenses on-line, please be aware that clecontactlenses.com can and will take your payment, refuse to ship, reply, or refund. Money wasted, rude behavior.

If you pay this operation by credit card take care that any dispute is resolved in time!

    GradePoint Average???

These people are vicious. Lost my payment as well, received no product, but quite a bit of obscene spam while attempting to resolve the issue.

  15. Problems with CleContactLenses
    June 28th, 2010 | 11:17 am

I came across this blog while looking for others experiences with the Cle ContactLenses company.
I placed an order with them months ago. I filled in my RX info as required, paid, and assumed my order was on the way.

A couple weeks later, the woman from CleContactLenses emailed back that she needed my docter’s address and phone number…(which I gave corectly at the time of ordering) Thus, I again sent the info (I had actually expected to have received the order by that time) and continued to wait for the order.

Well, the order never arrived, and No emails were answered. Like the user above, I also received extra spam, plus Cle sale ads back almost immediately each time I mailed.

In the end, I had to contact my card company and do a chargeback. What I don’t understand, other than the complete lack of response to inquiries, is Why they took my payment in the first place if they were not satisfied with the (very simple and complete) prescription information I provided.

I rate CleContacts as a very unreliable company, and their client ’service’ is horrible.
